Going to Cambodia to help these children and families is something we really believe in doing. It is a big undertaking for us and one that we can't do on our own. We need help to get us there!

There are 3 ways in which you can help us:

1. Committing to pray for us as we take this step out of faith. 

2. Consider supporting us financially either by a one-of amount or a regular monthly amount for the 6 months we are away.

3. Help us spread the word through one of our fundraisers and share our story with people you know.

By partnering with us you are doing something to help those in Cambodia. You are making a difference even if you can't go over there physically and help yourself. Each person/couple/business that partners with us will receive a monthly newsletter update via email to keep you in the loop with where we are at. Please consider in which way you can help.

Here are more details about each of these:

1. Prayer

Prayer partners play a huge part in our journey to Cambodia. We need people to commit to pray for us and with us as we raise the funds and once we go. Each monthly newsletter will include prayer needs and also prayers answered! We will send you out a bookmark to put in your bible or on your fridge to help remind you to pray for our family and the Sunshine Centre.

2. Financial Support

The positions we are taking at the Sunshine Centre are unpaid positions as the centre is using the funds they receive to go straight into the programs they run and also to employ local staff. In order for us to be able to go to Cambodia we need to raise $USD8,000. At the moment with the Australian dollar this works out to be roughly the same in AUD. We will be funding our bills here in Australia out of our own pocket and so all raised funds will be going straight to the costs we incur over in Cambodia. A detailed description of our costs are as follows:

• Rent/utilities = $600 total - thank you Riverview Guest House / Prison Fellowship Cambodia!
• Food/toiletries = $400/month
• Internal transport = $120/month
• Flights = $1500 for 2 adults and 1 child flying Air Asia
• Travel Insurance = $1000 for 6 months
• Visas = $160 for 6 months
• Health/medication = $40/month
• Travel Vaccinations = $600 for all 3 of us approx
• 1 Cell phone = $40/month

Total: $8000

There are two different ways you can support us financially:

1. Consider a one off amount which will allow us to cover the costs pre-departure (e.g. flights, vaccinations, travel insurance, visas).
2. Consider supporting us monthly for the 6 months we are over in Cambodia. A bank account will be left open in Australia in order for this. 6 payments would be made - 1 each month for the months of June - November inclusive. We will be able to be flexible with which date you make the deposit each month however payment in the first week of the month would be appreciated.

As for the prayer partners, our financial partners will also receive a monthly update email keeping you in the loop with what we are doing and how things are changing for the children and families at the Sunshine Centre.

3. Sharing our story

Last but definitely not least, please help us by sharing our story with those in your life. We will be doing some fundraising events, details of which will be coming soon on our blog and facebook page. While you consider supporting us in prayer and financially, consider those you can share our story with that may like to join you in supporting us as well.
